New Podcast! Episode 1: Be Observant!

Today I am including something new on the blog. This is episode 1 of a very short "blogcast" that I made about a teaching and parenting tip. The episode is merely 2.5 minutes long. I hope you find something useful in the material. I also hope that you will write me in the comments below and let me know what you think and what topics you might like to see in the future. I am eager to know how this experience worked.

  1. Thanks for sharing! I'd love to hear more application to teaching, like practical examples of how to apply these thoughts or other thoughts to everyday violin teaching.

    1. Thanks, Hannah! I thought about doing that and decided that this would be better as a longer article or discussion. In fact, I've been thinking about a short webinar or live Q & A about "how to read a student." It's like an art form, isn't it? Trying to read the mismatch between child and parent when they enter the studio, trying to read a student's "mood." That sort of thing. These little podcast episodes come from a book that I wrote for parents, and it was designed to be short little daily reflections to help parents be better home teachers/parents during their Suzuki journey. I thought I would try a few of these reflections out as podcasts first and see what folks thought about them. I'm still learning the podcast thing.

Thanks so much for commenting! I look forward to hearing from you again!
